What Inspires Me To Draw!

Image
Human beings!!  Actions. Gestures.  Figurative drawing is one thing I never get bored of. Just a few random strokes, quick sketches to capture real people on paper is my favorite subject to draw. A sketch of a human posture can be interpreted in so many ways, so differently. And no one would ever know what was running in that subject's mind, what has that person gone through in life which gives us a chance to think and interpret!  Here are some sketches I made with not too many details, random and quick.  I love this and want to do this for the rest of my life. Go people !! Chase that one thing you want to do the most. Keep doing it till you excel and feel happy about doing that. :D

GARAGE ART SALE

Image
When the whole concept of the garage sale came up in our art school, the first question popped up was, “what do I put up!” The idea was to come up with some simple products mostly made out of waste where the cost had to be as minimum as possible. It was a do it yourself project in a way. I wanted to try some lamps. Bang on! What better chance to experiment. ;) My inspiration came from the old cafes where different style of lighting is used, something innovative. I started with a walk around the old streets of Pune where you get to see a lot of trash and old, broken, torn out and worn out pieces of everything one can think. In fact, every city has a market of its own where you could find treasure like this. There were gunnies filled with dirty old alcohol bottles, and so many. Any brand you ask for. :D That was it. Picked up some bottles, some lights and started. There were some old cups and saucers laying which also got a new life! Turned them into little hanging lamps.  Cu

You always start with scribbling !

When my fellow classmates were studying economics during the second year of college, I was busy cursing myself for choosing economics and of course scribbling something side by side on sheets of paper. Hated those classes where I pushed myself to attend them saying, “its alright, this will end, it has to”. At the end of every mathematics class, self esteem srtaight down with fifty percent! Oh! Now I think about it and it all feels so dramatic, *sigh* !!   So in all this mess, in some corner, quietly, this is what I was scribbling. Manmohan Singh Abraham Lincon    Albert Einstein   Scribbling faces of famous personalities on ‘waste sheets of paper’. Caricature is what it's called in technical terms.  In a way making these helped me, it helped me feel better about myself in spite of being in the wrong place. Now I can say it was all planned, when I see myself writing for my readers. :) Marilyn Monroe   Rihanna   Jim Carrey   Michael Jackson   Its all a p

Introduction with EYES !

Heylo my lovely readers !!! Painting is my thing, not writing. But still, here I am, writing about my art.  I am Nejal, and I love to paint. Again, like many others, I too have a story about my journey with art and how did art happen to me.  I am an Economics graduate and now I've taken a U-turn to the place I belong.  It was a big turn, changing subjects, starting from scratch. At the end, heart was at peace, mind was there, where it should have always been.    I am learning, experimenting, working with different mediums, still discovering myself and my art.  Human anatomy, figurative art is what fascinates me. Human body impersonates expressions. A simple posture depicts so much more than words do at times. Hence, my inclination towards figurative drawing. I am too inspired by the work done by artists like  Zhaoming Wu , where he does not focus on the details, but just the way the painting flows.  My belief about art is that everybody interprets art differently. Everyone lo
